Overwhelming majority of visitors to Armenia recommend it to their friends

Almost all the tourists who have visited Armenia recommend the country to their friends, Mekhak Apresyan, chief of the Armenian economy ministry’s division in charge of tourism, said Wednesday at a news conference.

YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. Almost all the tourists who have visited Armenia recommend the country to their friends, Mekhak Apresyan, chief of the Armenian economy ministry’s division in charge of tourism, said Wednesday at a news conference.
“Some 99% of the tourists surveyed on border checkpoints in 2013 were happy about their trips to Armenia and were ready to advise their friends to take trips to this country,” he said.
In his words, the surveyed tourists pointed out only poor-quality roads, especially provincial, and insufficient quantity of road signs as reasons for some displeasure.
The economy ministry says 495,967 tourists visited Armenia in Jan-June 2014 – 17.3% more than in Jan-June 2013, and 474,989 people traveled from Armenia abroad for tourist trips – 14.8% year-on-year growth. --0----
