Parliament speaker: Armenia hopes that Poland will reconsider its requirement for Armenian citizens to have transit visas at Polish airports

YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. Armenia hopes that Poland will reconsider its requirement for Armenian citizens to have transit visas at Polish airports, Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan said today as he met with Chairman of the Foreign Relations and EU Affairs Committee of the Polish Senate Bogdan Klich in Yerevan.

Simonyan expressed his concern over this requirement, which has been in force since August 1, 2022. According to Armenian Parliament Speaker, it contradicts the idea of visa regime liberalization (between Armenia and EU) and creates additional obstacles for the free movement of Armenian citizens.

Simonyan and Klich were said to highlight the inter-parliamentary activities in the Armenian-Polish inter-state relations, agreeing on the necessity of expanding the agenda of cooperation.

Simonyan spoke also about Azerbaijan's September 13 large-scale aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia and its consequences.

In this context, the importance of the EU's decision to send a civilian observer mission to the borders of Armenia was noted. --0--
