Some 1.89 million foreign tourists visited Armenia in 2019, by 242,600 more than in 2019, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote in a Facebook post.

YEREVAN, February 5. /ARKA/. Some 1.89 million foreign tourists visited Armenia in 2019, by 242,600 more than in 2019, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote in a Facebook post.
He said the growth amounted to 14.7%. Compared with 2017, the number of tourists who visited Armenia last year grew by 399,600 or 26.7%, he added.
The Prime Minister also referred to the UN World Tourism Organization's latest study, which ranked Armenia 12th in the list of the top 20 fastest growing tourist destinations in the world. Armenia left behind Turkey and Azerbaijan, which are 13th and 17th respectively.
“Georgia is not included in the list of the 20 fastest growing tourist destinations. Armenia is the leading country in the Eurasian Economic Union. The ranking includes only Kazakhstan, which saw a 10% growth and is ranked 20th,” Pashinyan wrote. -0-
