Armenian court allows arrest of head of orphanage on charges of illegal adoptions

A local court in Yerevan allowed today the arrest of Liana Karapetyan, the deputy director of the National Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, who is also the director of the Yerevan Children's Home, Arevik Khachatryan, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, told Novosti Armenia news agency.

French President promises to push for adopting law criminalizing denial of Armenian Genocide

French President Francois Hollande assured his visiting Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan that the bill criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide will be adopted, Armenian Public Television reported. It said the French President made the statement during a dinner with Serzh Sargsyan in Paris.

Armenian parliament adopts statement condemning Safarov’s repatriation and pardoning

By a vote of 96 to one the Armenian parliament has adopted today a draft statement condemning the Hungarian authorities for repatriation of Ramil Safarov, an Azeri army Lt., sentenced to a life in prison by an Hungarian court for murdering in 2004 an Armenian colleague Gurgen Margarian.
