The Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia has approved, in the first reading, a draft law requiring that products made with milk fat substitutes be displayed separately on shelves and labeled accordingly.

YEREVAN, January 15. /ARKA/. The Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia has approved, in the first reading, a draft law requiring that products made with milk fat substitutes be displayed separately on shelves and labeled accordingly.

According to the approved amendments, products made with natural milk fat should be placed in a designated area with green markers, while those containing substitutes should be marked with orange markers.

"We all know that products without substitutes are more expensive. Therefore, consumers must be assured that by paying a higher price, they will receive high-quality dairy products," said Deputy Minister of Economy Tatevik Sargsyan.

She also noted that producers may voluntarily mark the packaging of their products with green or orange markers.
