Company “Yerevan-Jur” detected 500 violations in the consumption of drinking water in Yerevan

Company “Yerevan-Jur” detected 500 violations in the result of inspection in maintenance the rules of drinking water in Yerevan, press-service of “Yerevan-Jur” informs.

YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. Company “Yerevan-Jur” detected 500 violations in the result of inspection in maintenance the rules of drinking water in Yerevan, press-service of “Yerevan-Jur” informs.

CJSC “Yerevan-Jur” started broad-scale measurements by the detection of violations in water supply system, prevention and reduction of losses, increase of efficiency of water distribution stations.

In May, besides daily check-ups by the department of commerce and operation, the company conducted inspections in Avan-Arinj and Nor-Nork districts and a number of sections of Yerevan for studying legality of consumption of drinking water.

Significant part of consumers, as citizens, as well as offices maintains the existing rules of water supply and pay fees in a timely manner. About 500 violations are detected (unofficial connection, non-working or damaged water meter, violation of state standards and holographic stamp) which brought to wrong calculations of real volumes of water consumption which reduces accumulated money and affects the volume of investments.

Only in the park “Pobeda” (Victory) 10 cases of water usage violations were detected, including 9 unofficial water-lines and 28 cases in Zohrab and 18th Vshtuni streets.

"Yerevan-Jur” informs that the majority of violations was made by legal entities and is the result of intended violation of the current order.

Check-ups showed that many violations, especially by the citizens are made in the result of not knowing the law which brings to disagreement with inspecting organization and court processes.

Currently the company is verifying the size of the loss in the result of unofficial actions, disassembling “left” water-lines, registers new consumers, eliminates other deficiencies which will allow to specify real problems of water consumption and reduce water losses.

“Yerevan-Jur” together with Yerevan Municipality will continue the struggle against unofficial actions on the water supply coverage.

CJSC “Yerevan-Jur” is the resident of Armenia founded by French company Generale des Eaux which won the lease of “Yerevan Water Channel” in the tender of the World Bank in 2005 for 10 years.
The company possesses the right of management of water system of Yerevan with the aim of providing services of drinking water, water removal and water waste in Yerevan, Ararat, Aragatsotn and Kotayk regions of Armenia.

The number of subscribers of “Yerevan-Jur” is 339 369. Water network of the company is extended 2120 km. - -0-
