YEREVAN, January 23. /ARKA/. Armenia plans to build 4-5 new type of landfills, said David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, on Wednesday, responding to questions from MPs.

He noted that a new modern landfill for solid waste in the Kotayk and Gegharkunik regions will be put into operation within two months. This program was originally expected to be completed in 2022.

"Currently, the main work has been completed, the equipment has been purchased, and it is in the registration process. If the waste management model, based on the examples of Kotayk and Gegharkunik, proves successful, it will be extended to other regions as well," Khudatyan said.

According to him, calculations show that 4-5 landfills of this type will be build across Armenia.-0-
