YEREVAN, October 9. /ARKA/. Armenia so far is the only member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) that has reported a growth in the grain harvest, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the EEU executive arm, said.

According to it, the grain harvest in Armenia increased by 21.3% compared to September 1, 2022, while in Belarus it was down 21.2%, in Kyrgyzstan-by 40.5%, in Russia - by 12.4%.

In January-August 2023, the overall agricultural output in the EEU dropped by almost 2% compared to the same period last year. Growth was posted only by Kazakhstan, while Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Russia posted decline.

In the first 8 months of 2023 production of livestock and poultry for slaughter (live weight) grew in the EEU by 2.3% compared to the same period in 2022, milk production by 3% and production of eggs by 1.4%.

According to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia, the country's agriculture, forestry and fisheries produced in the frist half of 2023 about 307 billion drams worth products, 1.6% rise compared to the same period of 2022.

The agricultural output grew by 2% to AMD 278.6 billion, while the forestry sector amounted to AMD 924.1 million (up 27.3%) and n the fisheries to AMD 27.7 billion (down 2.9%). ($1 - AMD 410.12) -0-.
