Armenia's power generation decreased by 2% in three months

YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. In the first three months of 2023 Armenia’s power generating facilities produced over 2.4 billion kWh of electricity, which is 2% less than in the first three months of 2022, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.
It said thermal power plants produced over 1.1 billion kWh of electricity or 51.2% of the total. Compared to the first quarter of last year the figure was down 6.1%.
The nuclear power plant accounted for 29.9% or 939.2 million kWh (1.6% growth), and hydroelectric plants accounted for 15.1% generating 289.2 million kWh (9.1% fall).
Solar plants, whose share was 3.8%, produced 74.1 million kWh of electricity (2.1 times growth), and wind farms produced 0.9 million kWh (a drop of 9.5%). -0-
