A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck Georgia on Monday, with tremors felt in two regions of Armenia, the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reported.

YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck Georgia on Monday, with tremors felt in two regions of Armenia, the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reported.

The earthquake was registered on August 24 at 6:04 PM local time (2:04 PM GMT). The epicenter was located 13 km west of the Georgian town of Dmanisi, with the focal point at a depth of 10 km.

The magnitude of the tremors in the epicentral zone was 4.

In Armenia, the earthquake, measuring 2-3, was felt in the villages of Bavra, Saragyugh, and Sizavet in the Shirak region, as well as in the villages of Pakhaghbyur, Dzyunashog, and Metsavan in the Lori region.
