Armenia intends to return $2 billion worth of illegally acquired property to the state by 2031, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. Armenia intends to return $2 billion worth of illegally acquired property to the state by 2031, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"The government's 2026-2031 action plan sets the goal of returning up to $2 billion worth of illegally acquired property to the state by 2031," Pashinyan noted at a session of the National Assembly of Armenia on Monday during a discussion of the government's 2026-2031 program, approved on August 20.
According to him, the processes related to the ENA, Ararat Cement, and the Tsaghkadzor ropeway give reason to believe that this goal will be achieved, and the amount of property returned may be even greater.
Pashinyan stated that the system for returning illegally acquired property to the state is already fully operational.
"Real estate and funds worth approximately 304.1 billion drams have been returned to the state. Thousands of hectares of land, de jure or de facto illegally privatized, have been returned to communities and the government, including through negotiations," Pashinyan said.
The prime minister reported that Armenia's state budget revenues by the end of 2025 more than doubled the 2017 figure. In addition to economic growth, the reduction in the shadow economy played a significant role in the increase.
