YEREVAN, March 22. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia will hold a road show for foreign investors in June, finance minister Vardan Aramyan told journalists on Wednesday. He said the event will present to investors the Armenian government’s strategy and its vision, its specific investment-related proposals, as well as the reasons why investors should come to Armenia.

"The road show is an important precondition for bringing investors to our country, because we need to be in constant touch with them, work consistently and present various projects," Aramyan said.

As an example, he cited an Armenia Investment Forum, held in late 2016 in New York, saying that that event has already produced certain results. He said some 50 investors who were present at the New York forum, expressed desire to invest in Armenian energy projects at another investment forum held in Yerevan in January 2017.

"The activity of investors means that they see business opportunities in Armenia, and we must continue such initiatives, constantly work with investors," Aramyan said.

According to Armenian prime minister Karen Karapetyan, 341 investment projects worth about $ 3.2 billion were selected following a series of discussions with private sector representatives and government agencies. The government believes that implementation of $840 million worth investments is quite real in 2017.

According to the ministry of finance, net flows of foreign investments to Armenia in the first 9 months of 2016 amounted to $56.1 million, and FDI amounted to $92.4 million. -0-
