Armenian state revenue committee collects much more revenue than projected

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said it had collected about 290 billion drams in taxes and other revenue in the first four months of 2018, by 7.7% or 27.3 billion drams more if compared to the same period last year and by 14.5 billion drams more than projected.
YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said it had collected about 290 billion drams in taxes and other revenue in the first four months of 2018, by 7.7% or 27.3 billion drams more if compared to the same period last year and by 14.5 billion drams more than projected.
According to SCR, in April 2018 it had collected more than 130 billion drams in revenue. Some 108.3 billion drams of that amount were collected by tax authorities and 22 billion drams by customs authorities. Also in April, 9 billion drams were refunded to companies as VAT.
The SRC attributed the increase not only to economic growth, but also to improved tax administration and struggle against the shadow economy. -0-
