Industrial output in Armenia increased by 10.8% to 1.52 trillion drams in January-June 2026.

YEREVAN, August 10. /ARKA/. Industrial output in Armenia in January-June 2026 amounted to 1,522,502.1 million drams, an increase of 10.8% compared to January-June 2025, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.

In June alone, industrial output amounted to 256.7 million drams, 4% higher than in June 2025 and 3.1% lower than in May 2026.

The largest volume of industrial output in the first half of the year came from the manufacturing industry—946.8 million drams (an increase of 7.4% year-on-year). Next came the mining industry and open-pit mining at 361.3 million drams (an increase of 28.9%), the electricity, gas, steam, and purified air supply sector at 198.7 million drams (an increase of 4.5%), and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and recycling at 15.8 million drams (an increase of 4.2%).

The manufacturing industry accounted for the largest share of industrial production in January-June 2026, accounting for 62.2%. The share of mining and open-pit mining was 23.7%, electricity, gas, steam, and purified air supply at 13.1%, and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and recycling at 1%.

The Mining Sector as the Main Growth Driver

Industrial growth in the first half of the year remained double-digit at 10.8%, although the June figures indicate a slight slowdown in the current trend. While production increased by 9.5% year-on-year in May, it fell by 4% in June, with output down 3.1% compared to May.

The mining industry remains the main driver of growth, with output increasing by 28.9%. As a result, its share of industrial output reached 23.7%. Meanwhile, the largest sector—manufacturing—grew much more moderately, at 7.4%, accounting for over 62% of total industrial output.

Thus, the high overall rates of industrial growth in the first half of the year were largely supported by the mining sector, while the dynamics of the largest industrial segment remained more subdued.-0-
