YEREVAN, March 27. /ARKA/. The construction of a road leading to Nrnadzor village in the southern Armenia is a necessary preparatory work for the implementation of the Crossroads of Peace project, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

Addressing his Cabinet members today he said the construction of a new 10.1-kilometer-long road leading from the 15th kilometer of the Kapan-Tsav section to Nrnadzor is to be completed later this year.

According to him, this project is important because part of the road leading to Nrnadzor coincides with a section of former railroad tracks.

"And since we are planning to open up regional communications, this is the practical part of this work. That is, in fact, this is a preparatory work, a concrete step for the realization of our Crossroads of Peace project," Pashinyan said.

As he noted, this creates an alternative road for the settlement, but also frees up a section of the railroad.

The main idea of the Crossroads of Peace project is to launch (renew) and develop transport communication between Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran through roads, railways, cables, pipelines and power lines.

This is expected to build a short and efficient route between the Caspian Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, as well as a route from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea. -0-
