Observer mission of CIS interparliamentary assembly to conduct interim monitoring in Armenia

An observer mission of the Interparliamentary Assembly, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), is to conduct interim monitoring on the threshold of the presidential election in Armenia early in February.
YEREVAN, January 16. /ARKA/. An observer mission of the Interparliamentary Assembly, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), is to conduct interim monitoring on the threshold of the presidential election in Armenia early in February.

The Public Relations Department, RA Parliament, reports that, at his meeting with Speaker of the RA Parliament Tigran Torosyan, Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Mikhail Krotov reported that a 10-member expert group headed by Anatoly Torshin is to conduct the monitoring in Armenia.

Krotov reported that the observer mission also plans to hold meetings with Armenia’s leaders, Chairman of the RA Central Electoral Commission and the presidential candidates that are willing to meet with mission members.

The presidential election is to be held in Armenia on February 19, 2008. –0--
