The main festive events will be held it the downtown Republic Square in the capital Yerevan, however, however, contrary to the previous years, the festive events are decentralized and will be held in different administrative districts  of the capital, as well as in all towns and settlements of the country under the slogan "You are independent."

The festive events will begin at 10:00. At 12:00 about two thousand schoolchildren will take part in a chalk drawing event. At 13:00 an exhibition of paintings called "Vernissage" will open. From 13:00 to 23:00 there will be two stages in the square for performances. A procession of brass bands will also begin from the central square.
