Armenia’s minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan discussed on Monday the situation along the line of contact and at Armenia-Azerbaijan border with US ambassador to Armenia John Heffern.
YEREVAN, August 5. /ARKA/. Armenia’s minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan discussed on Monday the situation along the line of contact and at Armenia-Azerbaijan border with US ambassador to Armenia John Heffern.
The minister and the ambassador expressed their deep concerns about recent escalation and considered ways to reduce the tension through OSCE Minsk Group efforts in particular, says the report.
Ambassador Heffern offered his condolences to the families of the servicemen killed in the military clashes and called on the sides to relieve tension.
Over the last days Azerbaijan has largely intensified its military efforts along the line of contact with Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). Over 25 Azerbaijani and five Karabakh servicemen were killed in the latest raid operations and attempts by Azerbaijani troops to attack Karabakh’s positions. –0--
