YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. Azerbaijani troops have blocked the Goris-Stepanakert highway between the villages of Aghavno and Tegh this past night, Nagorno-Karabakh authorities said today. The road used to link Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to Nagorno-Karabakh authorities, the new dirt road running from the village of Tegh to Kornidzor in Armenia’s southern province of Syunik region bypassing the closed road is ready for use. It connects to the new Kornidzor- Hinshen road commissioned in August 2022. The asphalting of the Tech-Kornidzor road is carried out by the Republic of Armenia.

Nagorno-Karabakh Interior Ministry said that the Tegh-Kornidzor dirt road is passable and, due to the ongoing blockade of Karabakh by Azerbaijan, it can be used for the delivery of humanitarian goods by Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

This road on the border of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), near the bridge over the Khakar River, is controlled by Russian peacekeeping troops.

On December 12, 2022, the Azerbaijani side closed the Shushi section of the interstate highway connecting Artsakh with Armenia.-0-
