Francophonie summit kicks off in Armenia

The 17th Francophonie Summit has kicked off today in the capital of Armenia Yerevan.

YEREVAN, 11 October. /ARKA/. The 17th Francophonie Summit has kicked off today in the capital of Armenia Yerevan. The key speakers at the event are Armenian Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan, French President Emmanuel Macron as well as leaders of Madagascar, Canada and Secretary General of the Organization International of Francophonie Michael Jean.

The two-day summit held at the Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex has brought to Yerevan delegations from 84 countries, as well as partners and observers of this international structure, including leaders of 38 countries, namely Cameroon, Cambodia, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Belgium, Egypt, Greece, Guinea, Luxembourg, Monaco, Senegal, Seychelles, Switzerland, Tunisia, Vietnam, Vanuatu, Ghana, Argentina, Lithuania, Kosovo, Georgia , UAE, Mexico, Montenegro, Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Serbia and Slovakia.

Yerevan has already hosted the 105th session of the Permanent Council of the International Organization of Francophone and the 35th Session of the Ministers.

 The culmination of the Days of Francophone in Armenia will be a gala concert in Republic Square on October 12 to be given by famous singers and groups ZAZ, Melody Gardo, Angelique Chijo and DJ Folamour. The final part of the gala concert will be dedicated to the memory of the great French singer  Charles Aznavour, who died in France on  October 1. -0-
