President Serzh Sargsyan to pay working visit to Lithuania

On November 28, President Serzh Sargsyan will conduct a two-day working visit to the Republic of Lithuania to participate at the Summit of the Heads of State of the Eastern Partnership member states, the presidential press office said.
YEREVAN, November 26. / ARKA /. On November 28, President Serzh Sargsyan will conduct a two-day working visit to the Republic of Lithuania to participate at the Summit of the Heads of State of the Eastern Partnership member states, the presidential press office said.
It added that in Vilnius, President Sargsyan will take part in the meeting of the leaders of the European Peoples’ Party and Eastern Partnership countries.
In the framework of the visit, the President of Armenia will hold bilateral meetings.
On September 3, after talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in Moscow Serzh Sargsyan said Armenia was ready to join the Customs Union and also take part in the establishment of a Eurasian economic union.
Prior to that Armenia had been poised to initial an association and free-trade agreement with the EU at the November summit in Vilnius. After the September 3 announcement EU officials have repeatedly made it clear that the agreement is "not compatible" with Armenian membership of the Russian-led trade bloc. -0-
