Russia does not wage information warfare

Armen Gasparyan, head of a department at Russia’s state-funded international news agency Russia Today (RT) in charge of relations with former Soviet republics, declined today allegations that Russia has launched a massive information warfare (against the West), saying it only carries its own viewpoints on key international issues to the global community.

Hosted by an Armenian radio stations 106.0 FM that was launched today as a joint project of RT and Novosti Armenia news agency, Gasparyan said Russia is doing it consistently, not only within international organizations, but also with the help of the media.
According to him, broadcasting objective information about something can not be seen as an information warfare.
"Information warfare is when you do not know borders and shores. We talk about the importance of objective reporting, the importance of analyzing information rather than stuffing slogans into society," said Gasparyan.
According to him, from the standpoint of Armenia’s interests, the creation of a radio station is a normal process that aims to inform the public about the processes taking place in the Republic of Armenia and the world.-0-
