Russia’s Friendship Medal was handed to Karine Minasyan, a member of the Eurasian Economic Commission, on Wednesday in the Russian embassy in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. Russia’s Friendship Medal was handed to Karine Minasyan, a member of the Eurasian Economic Commission, on Wednesday in the Russian embassy in Yerevan.
Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin, speaking at the medal award ceremony, said that Minasyan the medal was awarded to Minasyan in accordance with Prussian President Vladimir Putin’s decree.
“Minasyan is always working to strengthen friendship, cooperation and economic relations between our nations,” he said.
The ambassador rated highly Minasyan's contribution to Armenian-Russian relations.
«Karine Minasyan stood at the origins of the whole Eurasian movement and has made a huge contribution to Armenia's efforts to join the Eurasian Economic Union very soon,» he added.
Minasyan, in return, said that it was a great honor to receive this medal.
«This is not only my merit, this is merits of all my collegues, who worked last years under the direction of the Armenian president and premier for strengthening and developing economic relations between Russia and Armenia and for accession to the Eurasian Economic Union,» he said.
The Eurasian Economic Union started functioning on January 1, 2015. Its members are Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan will join it soon. --0-----
