Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman accuses Armenian Security Council Secretary of humiliating Armenian nation

YEREVAN, 26 June. /ARKA/. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova today accused Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan of humiliating the Armenian people.

"There are things that one cannot comment on without having a medical education. I don't have the opportunity to apply any skills in this sphere, but it is impossible to treat it differently," Zakharova said at a press briefing, commenting on Grigoryan's words that "Russia took away Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia and returned it to Azerbaijan."  

According to her, being representatives of the authorities, such figures humiliate their own people.

"Armenian citizens defended their territory, gave their lives, believed it was historically important. The ideology of Armenia as a state was built on these theses for many years, they responded to the call of the state, political and public figures. They knew what they were fighting for, what they were sacrificing their well-being for, what they were condemning their wives and children to widowhood and orphanhood for. How can their memory be betrayed in such a cynical way? To nullify what used to be called a feat in Armenia... Who gave the right to people, obvious temporisers, who sit on foreign support, to insult their own people like this?" she said.

According to Zakharova, this question should be answered by the Armenian people themselves. -0-
