The United States of America will continue assisting the development of Armenia, Armenian people and its growing prosperity, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday at the meeting with Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan.

YEREVAN, June 5. /ARKA/. The United States of America will continue assisting the development of Armenia, Armenian people and its growing prosperity, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday at the meeting with Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan.
“Mister President, it is an honor for me to be here again in a year when we mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. The United States closely cooperated with Armenia in the past 20 years. We place a high value on partnership with Armenia,” the President’s press service quotes Clinton.
According to her, both she and President Obama highly assess their communications with Sargsyan.
“We have had many conversations, and, as you noted, they were very sincere, which is typical of friendship. And I know that you worked diligently to find a solution to regional problems concerning Armenia. So, we expect to continue our dialogue. The United States is ready to assist with your continuous activities as a good leader,” she said.
On his side, Sargsyan said, that Clinton is always welcomed and is a desirable guest in Armenia.
“This year we mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Armenia. I am glad that we can state that within these 20 years our relations have progressed and today are at the highest historical level,” the President said.He noted that the ties between the two nations have deeper history.
“I am glad that today we can say we have formed these friendly relations due to ties between our nations, large Armenian community in the U.S., as well as ideas of liberty, justice and democracy,” Sargsyan said.
He also highlighted that the relations between the two countries are based on mutual respect and confidence.
“We can always discuss any issue that presents interest to both of the sides,” Sargsyan said and added that Yerevan highly commends the U.S. role in the region.
“Once again I would like to thank you for the assistance provided by the United States to Armenia over these 22 years,” he noted.
Clinton met with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan on her working visit to Yerevan. U.S. Secretary of State will also visit Georgia and Azerbaijan.—0-
