The US State Department stated that within the TRIPP route, all border security and customs control functions will remain under Armenian control.
YEREVAN, July 13. /ARKA/. The US State Department stated that within the TRIPP route, all border security and customs control functions will remain under Armenian control.
"TRIPP preserves Armenia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction. All border security and customs control functions remain under Armenian control. Armenian authorities exercise control and make key decisions," the US State Department noted in response to a request from Radio Liberty regarding the possible application of EAEU regulations to the TRIPP route.
Earlier, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan stated that the republic is a member of the EAEU, and transit rules are governed by the norms of the Eurasian Economic Union. When asked whether the TRIPP route would operate in accordance with EAEU regulations, he answered affirmatively.
