YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. New concepts on the Armenian capital’s appearance and outdoor advertising are likely to be unveiled in May, Araz Baghdasaryan, chief of the Yerevan municipality’s division in charge of outdoor design and advertisement, said Thursday at a round-table discussion dedicated to the opening of the third annual international advertisement festival Popok (Walnut) in Yerevan.
“We will announce a tender on November 15,” he said. “All the concerned organizations, companies and individuals can send us their advertisement-related ideas until February 1. All the proposals will be considered in February and March, and already in mid-March we’ll develop the most democratic advertisement concept.”
Baghdasaryan also said that the outdoor appearance concept will be made public in spring as well.
He said both concepts will be put into reality in the next four or five years.
“We have already taken the first steps,” he said. “We should create a brand book for Yerevan to present the capital to tourists properly.”
The round-table discussion participants discussed the brand book’s design, which will be approved in this year’s spring.
The first festival Popok was held in Yerevan in September 2010. The festival name, Popok derives from the advertisement term POP (point of purchase) and OK. Besides, the walnut resembles the human brain and symbolizes creative brainwork. -0-
