YEREVAN, February 15. /ARKA/. The deputy director of the Armenian Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Gagik Surenyan posted on his Facebook page a photo of an apricot tree in bloom, saying this is the first time he sees an apricot tree blossoming in mid February.

“I have been working in this field for 20 years and I don’t remember a case when an apricot would bloom in any part of the country in mid-February,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

He said the photo was taken in the village of Nrnadzor in the southern province of Syunik on February 15.

Over the last two weeks, the weather across Armenia has been unusually warm, breaking long-term records. Such temperatures are typical of the second decade of March. However, according to weather forecasters, after February 18, the temperature will drop from the current 15-17 degrees on Celsius by 8-10 degrees. -0-
