All Armenian citizens in the age from 35 to 68 will get an opportunity to be tested for diabetes and arterial hypertension in the outpatient clinics for free, the facebook page of Armenia’s ministry of health reported.

The screenings will be carried out as part of Disease Prevention and Control program implemented by the government and the World Bank.
Hypertension (HTN or HT), also known as high blood pressure or arterial hypertension, is a chronic medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is elevated.
According to some estimates, some 50-60% of the population in developed countries suffers from hypertension.
Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. –0--
