Armenian health minister approves Covid-19 booster shot scheme
YEREVAN, December 1. /ARKA/. Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan has approved the guidelines for the COVID-19 booster shots.
The Ministry of Health said that after full course of vaccination against COVID-19, revaccination is recommended for people aged 18 and older, with priority given to those at risk.
The ministry said citizens who were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, but became ill with coronavirus disease again later and recovered may receive a single booster dose of the same or another vaccine 6 months after the first positive PCR test.
Citizens who became ill with coronavirus disease after the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and have recovered may receive a second dose 14 days after the last symptoms have passed. Six months after the second dose, citizens may receive a booster dose of the same or different vaccine.
Citizens who have received one or both doses of coronavirus vaccine may receive another vaccine no earlier than 4 weeks after the last dose. If the citizen wishes to get it he/she should give their accord in writing.
Five types of Covid-19 vaccines are used now in Armenia- CoronaVac and Sinopharm (China), AstraZeneca (Britain, Sweden), Sputnik V (Russia) and Spikevax (Moderna, USA). Vaccinations are free for people over 18 years old, including foreigners.-0-
