Citizens of Armenia visiting the Netherlands will not be fined for expired visas, Embassy says

Citizens of Armenia who had to stay in the Netherlands due to canceled flights caused by the coronavirus outbreak will not pay fines for expired visas, the Armenian Embassy in the Netherlands said in a Facebook posting.

YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. Citizens of Armenia who had to stay in the Netherlands due to canceled flights caused by the coronavirus outbreak will not pay fines for expired visas, the Armenian Embassy in the Netherlands said in a Facebook posting.

The Embassy said that according to the Netherlands Migration Service, foreign citizens who are in the country with short-term visas and who were unable to return to their countries before their visas expired will not be fined if they provide evidence that their flights were cancelled because of the coronavirus.

At the same time, the Embasy said that, as part of the preventive measures, the Netherlands Migration Service will be closed until April 6. However, its telephone service will continue to operate for urgent matters. There is also the option of making an appointment to extend once's visa.

The Embassy said citizens of Armenia whose medical insurance validity period coincides with the period of the visa, should extend the insurance period.

In Armenia, as of March 20, a total of 136 cases of confirmed coronavirus were registered. --0--
