Some 3,900 people leave Armenia for Russia and 3,400 arrive as Russia removes entry ban

YEREVAN, February 4. /ARKA/. Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan presented today several numbers regarding the movement of citizens after Russia removed the ban on entry of Armenian citizens from February.
Speaking at a recurrent Cabinet meeting he said over the last 3 days, some 3,900 people departed from Armenia by air to Russia. Of them 1,423 were with Armenian passports, and 3,400 flew in, including 1,263 with Armenian passports.
On February 3 Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed documents on the resumption of flights to Azerbaijan and Armenia, which were terminated due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The regular international flights between Russia and Azerbaijan (two flights a week) and between Russia and Armenia (four flights a week) will be resumed on a reciprocal basis on February 15, 2021.
On February 1, 2021 Russia removed the ban on entry of Armenian citizens for one month, saying they could enter the Russian Federation if they have a negative test for coronavirus taken at least 72 hours before the departure. Armenian citizens have to present a negative coronavirus test through the mobile application called Travel without COVID- 19.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted today that the large number of visitors to Armenia is an important economic factor.
“Over the past year, many of our compatriots who wanted to come to Armenia and see their loved ones did not have such an opportunity. They could have come, but there were problems getting back,” Pashinyan said.–0--
