Armenia to purchase $490 million worth of domestic munitions

YEREVAN, June 12. /ARKA/. Armenia will spend around 190 billion AMD (roughly $490 million) on domestically-produced munitions until the end of 2025, deputy parliamentary speaker Hakob Arshakyan said on Wednesday.

“Armenia was only spending about several billion AMD on domestic weapons each year prior to 2018,” he said, reporting on the 2023 state budget.

Arshakyan noted that such progress has been achieved thanks to the government that sponsors defense research.
