Yerevan City Mayor Gagik Beglaryan submitted resignation letter to the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian mass media informs.

YEREVAN, December 8. /ARKA/. Yerevan City Mayor Gagik Beglaryan submitted resignation letter to the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian mass media informs.

According to publications in the Armenian press, Beglaryan supposedly kidnapped and beat the employee of protocol department of President’s Office Aram Kandayan.

Relevant information from Yerevan Municipality will be received soon.

Earlier, press-secretary of the President of Armenia approved the fact of the incident. He added that the press exaggerated the events.

President of Armenia several times mentioned his position regarding such acts. Such a behavior is unacceptable and impermissible, especially in regard with high officials. --0—
