Preliminary results of Armenian presidential elections: Serge Sargsyan scores 60.2%
YEREVAN, February 20. /ARKA/. Preliminary results of Armenian presidential elections show that Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan scored 60.2% of votes after count of 28%.
According to Central Election Commission, Sargsyan’s key rival, former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan, won 16.3% of votes and Arthur Baghdasaryan 15.6%.
Vahan Hovhannisyan, Dashnaktsutyun party nominee, got 5.8% of votes, National Democratic Union leader Vazgen Manukyan 0.57%, National Unity Party leader Artashes Geghamyan 0.37%, People Party chairman Tigran Karapetyan 0.52%, former Karabakhi foreign minister Arman Melikyan 0.25% and National Accord party leader Aram Harutyunyan 0.16%.
According to the Central Election Commission’s information, 461852 ballot papers are already seen.
The Commission says 69.26% turnout (1 million 642 thousand 672 people) was recorded.
Armenian Police says there are 2 328 320 people eligible to vote in Armenia.
14 000 representatives of 39 local and six international organizations observed the election.--0---
