About $300 million invested in Armenian Police reforms from state budget over past 7 years - PM

YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Over the past 7 years, 121 billion drams (about $300 million) have been invested from the Armenian state budget in the reform of the Armenian Police. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a board meeting dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Armenian Police.
Calling the police one of the most important pillars of the state, Pashinyan pointed out that significant investments in the reform of the department were made by Armenia's international partners.
According to him, new cars, equipment, uniforms and physical infrastructure of the Police are not an end, but a means of changing the perception of work.
"It is necessary to radically change the attitude of all of us towards our state and our legal system," he said, emphasizing that "citizens must respect the state and the service, the service must deserve and defend this respect every day."
