YEREVAN, November 20. /ARKA/. The President of Armenia has appointed Arpine Sargsyan as the Minister of Internal Affairs. The corresponding decree has been published on the official website of the President.

Previously, she held the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.

On Wednesday morning, Pashinyan announced the appointment.

On November 18, Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan resigned. The day before, the President of Armenia signed a decree relieving Ghazaryan of his duties.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he had asked a number of high-ranking officials to step down, explaining that the reasons were not personal, but systemic, as he had publicly stated.

On November 15, at a government meeting, Pashinyan lashed out at the security forces, saying that his patience with their performance had run out. According to him, from now on, the security forces must independently tackle the tasks set within the framework of his concepts. -0-
