Armenian PM accuses Azerbaijan of pursuing destructive policy

YEREVAN, February 15. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today accused Azerbaijan of pursuing a destructive policy. The accusation comes following an Azerbaijani attack on an Armenian military post in Syunik province on February 13 that killed four Armenian contract servicemen and wounded one.

Speaking ahead of the cabinet meeting, Pashinyan said that the course of events shows that Azerbaijan's intentions remain the same - to pursue a policy of military coercion against Armenia.

'Our impression is that Azerbaijan does not show interest in ensuring stability and security on the borders, and there are many reasons for that. For example, back in 2022 an agreement was reached that the mandate of the commissions on the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border should include security issues. Armenia, according to the agreement, established a 'commission on border delimitation and security', assuming that the commissions would also work on security issues. Azerbaijan, despite the agreement, omitted the security component in the name of its commission," the Prime Minister said.

According to him, this allows to conclude that Azerbaijan continues the policy of "give me what I want, otherwise I will take it by war". -0-
