Armenian president welcomes Prince Charles

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan welcomed Wednesday Charles, the Prince of Wales, who arrived in Armenia on Tuesday on a three-day private visit.

YEREVAN, May 29. / ARKA /. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan welcomed Wednesday Charles, the Prince of Wales, who arrived in Armenia on Tuesday on a three-day private visit.
Sargsyan was quoted by his press office as saying that the Armenian-British relations have a long history and that the Armenian people are fond of the British people and the royal family. He then asked the Prince to convey his greetings and good wishes to Queen Elizabeth.
Sargsyan also recalled his meetings with the Queen and the Prince in London in 2010.
The main purpose of Prince Charles’ trip is to promote a charity project in Yerevan planned by Armen Sarkisian, former Armenian ambassador to UK who served also as a prime minister. The project is called “Yerevan My Love.” It was designed for reconstructing historical buildings in Armenia’s capital city and using them for charitable purposes.
In turn, Prince Charles thanked the President for the warm hospitality and Armen Sarkisian for the invitation, highlighting the importance of “Yerevan, My Love" program. He also spoke about the construction of an international school in the resort town of Dilijan. The Prince praised Armenia’s authorities for the attention they attach to education and youth projects and expressed readiness to extend his educational program to help young entrepreneurs to Armenia. -0-
