Hayk Ghalumyan appointed as governor of Tavush province
YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today the appointment of Hayk Ghalumyan as governor of Tavush province.
For about a year, Ghalumyan served as acting head of the Ijevan community by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. On Thursday morning, Pashinyan signed an order to dismiss him from this post giving the job to Artur Chagaryan.
The post of Tavush governor was vacant after the former head of the regional administration, Hayk Chobanyan, was appointed as minister of the high-tech industry, replacing Hakob Arshakyan, who resigned after a brawl with a journalist.
According to mass media reports, the new governor is the godfather of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The governor's brother Vahe Ghalumyan is a member of the National Assembly from the ruling My Step alliance. --0--
