Pashinyan: Armenia will agree to dissolution of OSCE Minsk Group as part of its proposals to Azerbaijan
YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/.Armenia will agree to the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group as part of its proposals to Azerbaijan to establish stability and peace in the region, according to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
In a Facebook post, Pashinyan responded to recent aggressive statements from Azerbaijan and published Armenia's proposals for long-term stability and peace in the region:
- Mutual restraint from escalatory rhetoric
- Continuation of the state border demarcation process, based on the experience from the Berkaber-Voskepar section and the regulations for the joint work of the demarcation commissions of both countries
- Signing a peace treaty, which is 90% ready
- Implementation of the "Crossroads of Peace" project, including resolving the issue of Azerbaijan-Azerbaijan communications through Armenia and Armenia-Armenia communications through Azerbaijan, in line with proposals Armenia submitted to Azerbaijan after the Kazan meeting
- Introduction of a joint mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations
- Complete resolution of the issue of detained individuals
- Intensified efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons
- Renunciation of mutual claims, including, but not limited to, in international courts
- Full and effective implementation of the provisions of the Peace Agreement
- Establishment of a mechanism for negotiations on mutual control over arms, including quotas and restrictions on their use
- Discussion of issues related to refugees from both countries by forming a joint expert committee after peace is established

Earlier, the President of Azerbaijan stated that a peace treaty is impossible without the abolition of the OSCE Minsk Group and changes to Armenia's Constitution. He called Armenia a "fascist state," claiming that "this fascism will be destroyed either by Armenia’s leadership or by us." Ilham Aliyev also demanded that Armenia cease arming itself and return the weapons already supplied to the country.
