YEREVAN, April 21. /ARKA/. Approximately 15,000 out of 35,000 individuals in Armenia who submitted income declarations have claimed their right to reimbursement for social expenses, as stated by Deputy Finance Minister Arman Poghosyan today.

The National Assembly of Armenia is currently reviewing a proposed law aimed at extending the deadline for individuals to file their income declarations.

Poghosyan noted, “So far, citizens have already received around AMD 1.4 billion in reimbursements for social expenses. However, many individuals submitted declarations without claiming their rights to those reimbursements.”

The “social credits” system is designed to refund part of the income tax previously paid by citizens to cover expenses in two primary areas: education and healthcare. The refund limits are set at up to 100,000 drams for education and 50,000 drams for health services per year for each working family member in healthcare.

Recently, the government has opted to broaden the scope of this system to include sports, music and dance lessons, school textbook rentals, and dental services.

In total, during 2024, approximately 3,800 individuals took advantage of the social expenditure system, receiving refunds amounting to 340 million drams. ($1 equals 390.9 drams).-0
