About 6.3 billion drams invested in the modernization of the Yerevan metro in 2 years

YEREVAN, February 13. /ARKA/. Over the past two years, 6.3 billion drams have been invested in the modernization and re-equipment of the Yerevan Metro, according to the city administration.
As per the available data, 260 million drams were spent on repairing the escalators at Republic Square station, while 204 million drams were allocated for replacing the escalators at Gortsaranain station.
The program to replace the escalators at Sasuntsi David station, costing 114 million drams, is ongoing. The next in line are the escalators at Zoravar Andranik station, for which a tender will be held with a budget of 504 million drams.
About the Yerevan Metro
The Yerevan Metro was established in 1981. Currently, the metro has 10 stations, and the total length of all metro lines is 13.4 km. Future plans include the construction of two new stations—Arabkir (tentatively by 2026) and Surmalu (currently in the feasibility study stage).
