YEREVAN, February 15. /ARKA/. The Czech Republic is ready to step up contacts with Armenia to assist it in introduction of a comprehensive health insurance system, Czech Ambassador to Armenia Petr Piruncik said today at a meeting with Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan.

The Health Ministry's press office said the countries have potential for cooperation and exchange of experience in such areas as pharmaceuticals, maternal and child health care.

Piruncik and Avanesyan also touched upon the consequences of the blockade of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) by Azerbaijan since December 12, 2022. The minister urged European partners to raise the issue in different instances.

The Health Care System Development Strategy for 2023-2026, approved by the Armenian government on February 9, provides, in particular, for the introduction of a universal system of health insurance in 2023-2027. It will cover all types of medical services except for dentistry and plastic surgery.

The key principles of the Strategy are prevention of diseases, increase in life expectancy, reduction of early mortality and disability --0—
