Armenia considered very high risk area: European entry ban in effect for some people in Armenia

YEREVAN, October 29, /ARKA/. Starting from October 29, Armenia is considered a very high risk area, hence new regulations for traveling to the Netherlands from Armenia have been imposed, the Netherlands Embassy in Armenia said today.

It said a European entry ban is in effect for some people, barring them from travelling to the European Union or the Schengen area.

Entering the Netherlands is allowed if the purpose of the trip falls under one of the exemption categories.

For more information travelers should visit https://bit.ly/3Czywbc.

When entering the Netherlands the visitor should: - undergo mandatory self-quarantine if not vaccinated, provide negative COVID-19 test result even if vaccinated, fill in health declaration.

In a related development, the European Union confirmed Thursday that Armenia-issued COVID-19 vaccination certificates are now equivalent to EU-issued certs for travel across the bloc.

The EU digital COVID cert is a measure that was introduced in July to facilitate travel across EU. It allows individuals to present their vaccination, recovery or testing status in either digital or paper format through a QR code that can easily be scanned at borders, similar to airline boarding passes, and allows for relatively unrestricted travel across the EU.

Initially it was only available to residents of the EU and Schengen Area countries, but in recent weeks other countries and territories were connected to the system. -0-
