Armenia continues to implement new national curriculum in schools
YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. The process of implementing the new national education curriculum continues in Armenian schools, according to Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan.
"This year, the process is ongoing. Starting in September, it has been extended to four additional grades. Currently, the educational process in seven out of twelve grades is being organized based on the new curriculum," Andreasyan announced during a press conference on Friday.
She noted that over 250,000 students in the second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and tenth grades are now learning under this new system.
The curriculum is also being applied in preschools. "We have approved a new curriculum for early childhood education, and it has already been introduced in 190 kindergartens. At present, a retraining process is underway," Andreasyan added.
She highlighted the importance of strengthening cultural education in the new academic year. "On September 14, cultural expos will be held across all regions of the country, where cultural institutions will showcase their resources. These expos will offer teachers and parents the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the cultural offerings and plan school visits accordingly," the minister explained.
In the coming months, a special "Day of the Arts" is also planned, where various educational and cultural projects will be summarized in schools.
Andreasyan further announced a joint retraining program for school staff and cultural institution employees, set to begin next year.
