YEREVAN, March 2. /ARKA/. Citing the considerably improved Covid-19-related epidemiological situation in the country, Armenia’s Ministry of Health has eased some of earlier imposed restrictions.

More precisely, it has lifted the mandatory requirement to wear masks indoors. This, however, does not apply to healthcare workers.

In all other indoor areas, it is recommended that people wear a mask, changing it every 3-4 hours as needed. The change takes effect the next day after the official publication.

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the total tally of deaths from Covid-19 as of March 2, 2022 is 8,493.

In total, 2,902,684 coronavirus tests have been administered in the country of 3 million since March 1, 2020, when the first case was detected. Since then 403,671 patients have recovered.

In Armenia, 6 types of Covid-19 vaccines are used now- CoronaVac and Sinopharm (China), AstraZeneca (Britain, Sweden), Sputnik V (Russia), Pfizer and Spikevax (Moderna, USA). Vaccinations are free for people over 18 years old, including foreigners.

On November 11, the government of Armenia extended the coronavirus quarantine until June 20, 2022.

The nationwide quarantine was first imposed on September 11, 2020 replacing the state of emergency that was declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus. -0-
