Armenian government adopts health system development strategy for 2023-2026
YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has adopted today a healthcare development strategy designed for 2023-2026.
Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said the strategy focuses on improvement of health quality and elimination of healthcare system’s problems.
According to her, the focal point of the strategy will be health preservation and increasing life expectancy and quality of life. She said this means that the healthcare system will be focused on taking care of human health from the first days of life.
Avanesyan stressed the importance of a phased introduction of a universal health insurance system, which she said will completely change the model of financing and will contribute to making it more effective, improving the quality and accessibility of services.
As for the quality of services, she noted that the requirements for obtaining medical licenses by medics will be changed soon.
‘Basically, thanks to capital investments, in the next two or three years we will achieve a higher quality of services at all medical centers," Avanesyan said.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added that by 2026 the country must have no medical centers, outpatient clinics in poor condition. --0--
