Artsakh foreign minister receives newly appointed Halo Trust program manager

On August 16, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Masis Mayilian received the newly appointed Artsakh Program Manager of the international non-government organization The HALO Trust Edward Robert Syfret.
YEREVAN, August 16, /ARKA/ On August 16, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Masis Mayilian received the newly appointed Artsakh Program Manager of the international non-government organization The HALO Trust Edward Robert Syfret.
Issues related to the further activities of The Halo Trust on mine clearance and disposal of unexploded ordnances in the territory of Republic, as well as prospects for funding the organization’s activities in the future were discussed at the meeting.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the work carried out by organisation towards ensuring the safety of the country’s population and has reiterated Artsakh Foreign Ministry’s readiness to support the realization of humanitarian programs in Artsakh.
Masis Mayilian wished the new Programme Manager success in the implementation of the important mission.
The HALO Trust is the world’s largest humanitarian mine clearance organisation. It leads the effort to protect lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict. It removes landmines and makes safe other weapons such as cluster bombs, stockpiles of small arms and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). -0-
