YEREVAN, February 24. /ARKA/. The tender for the construction of the 12th station of the Yerevan metro, Surmalu, may be announced by the end of this week, said Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan.

“A preliminary public investment program has been developed and may be submitted to the government for discussion,” he said at a working meeting on Monday.

According to Hovhannisyan, the terms of the tender were agreed upon during a recent meeting of the special task force.

Earlier, Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated that the design work for the construction of the Surmalu station would be funded by the city hall, with 400 million drams (about $1 million) allocated from the community budget for 2025.

About the Surmalu station
At present, the exact location of the 12th metro station, Surmalu, has not been determined. It is expected to be situated between the existing metro stations "Sasuntsi David" and "Zoravar Andranik," providing access to two shopping centers, "Surmalu" and "Petak," as well as an alternative urban transport route along Sevan Street. This will help alleviate traffic in the area.
